Been shooting a gold 10ga since I was 14 and love it Super black eagle 2 870 super mag, I’ve used it every season since I was 16 and I’m 31 now and it’s never hung or let me down. And I’ve dropped it in the lake several times lol Benelli Super Nova go to guide gun on Kodiak for me!!😎 Franchi Affinity HANDS DOWN An older model 870 is your most reliable gun. After 20+ years with my 870, I just switched to a Winchester SX4. Love it so far. Seth Elder, I just did the same exact thing last season. Having trouble with the sx4. It's so light I'm just off. Christopher Nelson It has sure taken some getting used to shooting it. How many times have you tried to pump it after a shot. I didn’t quite a few times this season. 😂 Seth Elder, yes still find myself doing this once in a while.🙄 Can’t beat a 870 express for durability and price. What chock y’all use in yalls 870 mag express? Blake Pearson I like using a Pattern master, the duck version for 3" and goose for 3.5". Both are the same, but the goose one is built for 3.5" shells. Goose Pattern Master with 3" #2 shot federal close range is my set up, anything with in 40 yards is dead, as long as I hit it. Have had a 870 since I was 14 gun rules Have a Benelli Super nova that was ok shot we’ll ever time But my stoeger 3500 put pellets on them every time I have my dad’s old 12 gauge 3 in mag 870 Wingmaster from the 70”s that has never missed a beat in all these years. I treated myself to Franchi Affinity 3 1/2 inch in bottomland camo a few years ago and I love it. I rotate them out pending if I wake up feeling old school or new school. I still use my 870 with capacity for 3.5 inch shells that I got when I was 18. Winchester SX4PERIOD Beretta A350 My old Browning pump or my old 870 16gauge wing master Winchester SX4 Got to love that 870... my wife prefers her sxp Remington 870 super mag I used a Browning BPS 10 for 20 years and loved it but started getting heavy. I bought a Benelli Super Vinci after and absolutely love it. I just picked up a MC 312 My Remington 870 Express does well. I use a Kick’s High Flyer full or my Rem modified choke. Benelli M3 field shots great once you find the load it likes The best & most economical rarely, if ever, go hand in hand. The best bang for the buck is in the used market. If you can find a Winchester Super X2, a Beretta 390, Remington 1187, you’d be hard pressed to find anything much better that has a proven track record at these guns used prices. Dustin Maruquin you need to get you one of them there benettis... Or if you really want bang for your buck let me know.. I've got a hidden gem of a gun to recommend Jason Hofmeister, I forgot all about them damn Benetti’s!!! Gerry Gilley used to shoot one of those. 😆😆 Beretta outlander Hard to beat a moss berg 835! Mossberg 835 , or take my 870 , or go old model 12 for waterfowl Browning A5! A5 love it Depends on how you shoot! If you have trouble with long shots and keeping your head down, invest in a Browning A-5! My “Death wand” for over 50 years! I don’t buy economical I have always shot well with my Benelli Super Nova. I shoot skeet and trap and usually only miss one or two a night I don't know if its the best but i use a stoeger m2000 never had a problem with it in 6 or 7 years Ive used it has never let me down My $200 walmart special the Hatfield 12 ga auto....or my 12 ga Mossburg 535....ducks drop like flies! Never had a problem with either gun Mark Malloy I bought the Hatfield and still can’t get it to work Hayden Jeffers i first got it i think it hung 2 or 3 times the first few shots, i ran 4 boxes of differant loads thru it aint had no trouble. Guess it had to break in Mark Malloy mine broke the firing system just went to peices Hayden Jeffers hope you sent that joker back Mark Malloy I did and it came back I went to shoot it for turkey season testing it and the stock broke Hayden Jeffers damn I agree Mark. I have a brand new A5. Does the same thing as my kids Hatfield. Just waiting for the McCoy. Ran my 870 super mag for 23 years, just bought a new Franchi Affinity 3.5 and just as happy with it, hopefully it last half as long.P.s. 870 is still running strong just wanted an auto. Maverick model 88 with a 28” barrel and aftermarket fiber optic sight bead A plain old 870 Express is the best gun there is. I work selling guns at a local hardware store. The budget shotguns that always sell are mossberg 500, Remington 870, Stevens 320, and tristar in multiple models and Dickinson shotguns. All preform well. I have had three tristars brought back for not cycling in the auto models. Upon looking into why I realized that the owner of the gun didn't break in the gas piston with heavy loads before running light target loads. Other than that never had one come back for an issue. That 870 is money!!! Can’t go wrong with the Remington 870 Express Super Mag. Used that tried and true for a decade and finally ended up upgrading to a Browning Maxus Wicked Wing. Not mad about the upgrade at all but the 870 is a work horse of a gun, not only as your shooter, but a boat oar if need be, walking stick or a ‘help I’m stuck in some shit’ helper outer.
